Whom.Blessing.Homes (WBH) intends to reflect on the different realities that are being experienced simultaneously during this crisis.
WBH is a project inspired by the coordinates found on what3words (a website that assigned each 3m square in the world a unique 3-word address).
WBH is a specific place in Brussels, Belgium. If you click on the building door, you will find yourself in the WBH coordinates: in front of a medical clinic in avenue Louise.
This location was chosen as a symbolic home for the project because of its ironic relation to the pandemic as well as to the contrasting nature of avenue Louise itself. While avenue Louise is known for its fashion boutiques and hip neighborhood, it is also widely known as a busy place for sex workers amongst locals.
The WBH building hosts the thoughts of 7 artist on their experience during the lockdown and feelings towards it. In addition to that, other elements were chosen to represent the contrasting realities throughout the world.
Therefore, the building becomes an ecosystem linking the inner emotional world and the outside world crisis. In the end, they might all be in lockdown in one building, but experiencing it differently in each apartment.
